Abstract

We theoretically investigate the use of nonlinear optical loop mirrors including a quarter-wave retarder and highly twisted, low-birefringence fiber to reduce the amplitude noise of an optical pulse train. This reduction can be obtained simply by adjusting the angle of the retarder.
