The 9.2 μm, 2 ps, Multi-Terawatt Laser at the Accelerator Test Facility (ATF) of Brookhaven National Laboratory

Abstract

A terawatt-class long-wave infrared (LWIR) laser based on chirped-pulse amplification of picosecond pulses in mixed-isotope, high pressure CO2 amplifiers is in operation at ATF. An overview of the laser system as well as a summary of recent progress and status are presented.
