Abstract
We present a novel source of ultrashort, watt-scale, 50-MHz repetition-rate, broadband (6-18 µm, or 555-1666 cm−1) pulses. Generation and electro-optic-sampling of the waveform-stable transients is driven with a femtosecond thulium-based fiber-amplifier.
