Waveguide-integrated dielectric laser particle accelerators through the inverse design of photonics

Abstract

We apply the inverse design methodology to waveguide-integrated dielectric laser particle accelerators. These accelerators are optimized to maximize the acceleration gradient. The designs have been fabricated on a silicon-on-insulator platform and experimentally characterized.
