Resonant-Cavity Infrared Detector (RCID) with Very Thin Absorber

Abstract

A resonant-cavity detector with peak sensitivity at 4.0 µm reaches 34% external quantum efficiency at room temperature, despite having only five absorbing quantum wells. Multiple passes enhance the peak absorption by nearly ×30.
