Low-loss Waveguides in Y-cut Thin Film Lithium Niobate for Acousto-Optic Applications

Abstract

The dependence of waveguide loss on buried oxide thickness in Y-cut lithium niobate on insulator (an ideal platform for acousto-optic devices) was investigated. Waveguide loss of as low as 0.33 dB/cm was measured.
