Synthesis, Spectroscopy and Efficient Laser Operation of Tm:Lu3Al5O12 Transparent Ceramics

Abstract

Tm:Lu3Al5O12 ceramics are synthesized by solid-state reactive sintering, and their structure and spectroscopic properties are studied. A Tm:Lu3Al5O12 ceramic laser diode-pumped at 793 nm generates 3.12 W at ~2.02 μm with a slope efficiency of 60.2%.
