Fundamental Limits to Duration and Bandwidth of Temporal Cavity Solitons due to Raman Scattering

Abstract

We theoretically and experimentally show that stimulated Raman scattering destabilizes temporal cavity solitons at large pump-cavity detunings. Significantly, the identified instability imposes fundamental limits on the duration and bandwidth of temporal CSs.
