Monolithically Integrated Stokes Vector Modulator Based on Quantum-Confined Stark Effect

Abstract

We demonstrate a monolithically integrated Stokes vector modulator using quantum-confined Stark effect in a simple straight-line configuration. Efficient polarization modulation over Poincaré sphere is observed by applying reverse-bias voltages to MQW-based polarization-dependent phase modulators.
