Plasmonic-Organic Hybrid Modulators for Optical Interconnects beyond 100G/λ

Abstract

We demonstrate a short-reach optical interconnect with a plasmonic intensity modulator. Data rates of 56 GBd PAM-4 and 100 GBd PAM-2 are demonstrated over 2 km and 1 km SSMF with direct detection at 1544nm.
