Abstract

We show low-loss propagation in germanium-on-silicon (GOS) waveguides from 6.85 µm to 11.25 µm. The loss is as low as a few dB/cm at a wavelength of 10 µm for both the quasi-TE00 and quasi-TM00 modes.
