The Role of Spatial and Spectral Hole Burning in QCL Frequency Comb Formation

Abstract

We investigate theoretically formation of frequency comb in Quantum Cascade Lasers operating in mid-IR and THz regions and show that spectral and spatial hole burning mitigation favors pseudo-random frequency modulation format.
