Electro-Optic Aperiodically Poled Lithium Niobate Directional Couplers

Abstract

We report the first aperiodically alternating-Δβ directional couplers whose switching behavior can be engineered in great freedom. The fabrication tolerance/working bandwidth of the novel coupler can be increased by 2.7/2.4 times over a conventional coupler.
