Scattering near-field mid-infrared microscopy using self-mixing in quantum cascade lasers

Abstract

We demonstrated scattering near-field mid-infrared imaging via the self-mixing in a quantum cascade laser used as both a light source and a detector. The experimental setup and preliminary results on gold/sapphire samples are presented.
