Plasmonic System with In-Plane Magnetic Anisotropy for Plasmon Based Magnetic Switching

Abstract

Profile-modulated permalloy films are promising for magneto-optical applications. We show that such systems demonstrate plasmonic properties and have uniaxial in-plane anisotropy, which may allow sharp magnetization switching using SAM of light.
