Mode-locked Topological Laser in Synthetic Dimensions

Abstract

We present topological insulator laser with one spatial and one modal dimensions. The topological lasing state imposes constant phase difference between the multi-frequency modes, forcing the resonators to mode-lock and emit short pulses.
