Spin-Preserving Chiral Photonic Crystal Mirror

Abstract

We report on the experimental realization of a chiral photonic-crystal structure which exhibits extreme intrinsic chira-optical activity. Formation of quasi-bound-states-in-continuum allows selective reflection of the circular polarization states of light and unconventionally preserves the handedness upon reflection.
