Subcycle dynamics of ionization revealed via polarization of lowest harmonics

Abstract

We show that by looking at the polarization of lowest (0th and 3d) harmonics of the atomic response it is possible to determine details of attosecond-scale ionization dynamics including ionization time and its temporal asymmetry.
