Abstract

We demonstrate the distributed bending-induced birefringence measurement in single-mode fibers with high spatial resolution using a polarization-analyzing optical frequency domain reflectometer. The bending-induced birefringence coefficient of 5.499×10−10m2 is accurately obtained.
