All-Optical Control of Long-lived Spin Coherences in Rare Earth Doped Nanoparticules

Abstract

We measured nuclear spin coherence lifetimes up to several milliseconds in Eu3+ doped Y2O3 nanoparticles using all-optical techniques. Combined with narrow optical linewidths, this opens the way to nanoscale light-atom-spin interfaces at the quantum level.
