Sum rules & power–bandwidth limits to near-field optical response

Abstract

We not only derive a sum rule for near-field optical response integrated over all frequencies, but also establish a general framework yielding a geometry-independent limit on bandwidth-averaged response, which we call the power–bandwidth limit.
