Photonic Crystal Waveguides As Integrated Sources of Counterpropagating Factorizable Photon Pairs

Abstract

We show that counterpropagating phase-matching reached in photonic crystal waveguides, without periodic poling, can be used in spontaneous parametric down-conversion to engineer the generation of photon pairs factorizable in the spectral degree of freedom.
