Nanophotonic waveguides for extreme nonlinear optics

Abstract

We demonstrate nanophotonic waveguides for mid-infrared supercontinuum generation and high-harmonic generation. The waveguide geometry enables phase-matching of harmonic generation to higher-order modes. Simulations reveal how periodic poling enables high-harmonic generation through a cascaded mechanism.
