Novel heterodyne pump–probe measurement of femtosecond nonlinearities in waveguides

Abstract

Pump-probe measurements of nonlinearities in waveguides require that the pump and probe beams propagate collinearly. In the past, the pump and probe beams have been orthogonally polarized so that a polarizer, after the waveguide, could select the probe beam for detection.
