Abstract

Fabrication of quantum wires has recently received much attention since new physical phenomena with possible use in semiconductor lasers are expected.1,2 Although various fabrication techniques have been investigated to obtain the quantum wires, existence of the quantum wire effect is not fully evident. In this paper, to confirm the 2-D confinement effects more clearly, magneto-PL spectra are studied in GaAs quantum wires fabricated by a MOCVD selective growth technique.
