Abstract
New approaches to the problem of powerful recombination plasma lasers are reviewed: concept of photoionization-recombination laser, requirements for laboratory sources of high-power VUV radiation–spectral and brightness characteristics (Ter ≥ 40 kK in the range λ < 100 nm), spatial and geometric parameters (Ly > 10 sm and emitting surface area S > 100 sm2).
