Abstract

Two methods were used to suppress stimulated photon echo (SPE) in doped crystals; LaF3Pr3+ crystals cooled to 4.5° K and with a concentration of Pr3+ ions c = 0.5 at, % and c = 1 at. % were used in the experiments. SPE excitation was done on the 3H43P0, transition of Pr3+ by three laser pulses. They had a nearly rectangular shape with minimum duration of (17 ± 2) ns, and were distant from each other in time by (45 ± 2) ns and (165 ± 2) ns.
