Abstract

The recent advance of nonlinear optical frequency conversion to the blue-green region1 has encouraged researchers to study efficient frequency conversion in other wavelength regions. Because cw UV radiation <275 nm is difficult to obtain directly from lasers, frequency doubling of blue-green cw lasers is worth studying, BBO is the best crystal for generating UV radiation because of its wide phase-matching region down to 205 nm by SHG, low optical loss, and durability.2
