Abstract

Wavelength modulation spectroscopy is a sensitive technique useful for measuring weak absorptions. This technique, used in conjunction with diode lasers and fiber optics, allows for compact remote sensing of harsh environments. We have used this arrangement to measure molecular oxygen temperature and density in the NASA Langley Research Center Mach 2 SCRAM jet combustor.
