Abstract

To evaluate the characteristics of optical components or total systems along the optical path, reflectometry with millimeter or submillimeter spatial resolution is required. We have proposed optical coherence domain reflectometry by synthesis of the coherence function (OCDR) for high resolution measurements of optical waveguide devices, and obtained 2–4-mm resolution in air.1-2 In this paper, measurement range flexibility of the OCDR is experimentally demonstrated.
