Abstract
Recently, pulses of ~100 fs duration which are widely tunable in the near- infrared have become available using various schemes with CW-pumped Ti:Sapphire lasers. We report a new technique which produces independently tunable femtosecond pulses at high repetition rate. In specific, we use a 100 fs CW modelocked Ti:Sapphire laser to synchronously pump a HITCI dye laser, producing a tunable pulse train which exhibits <100 fs jitter with respect to the pump pulse train.
