Abstract

Intrinsic laser efficiencies have been measured for KrF laser-pumped dye lasers. Measurements have been performed at comparable laser pump intensities in two very different pulse length regimes: a short pulse regime in which ~20-ns 200-mJ KrF laser pulses were used to pump a number of coumarin dyes and a long pulse regime where ~1-µs 10-J KrF laser pulses were used.
