Abstract

Several different mode-locking techniques for Ti:sapphire have been investigated including additive pulse mode-locking, self mode-locking, resonant passive mode-locking and passive mode-locking with saturable absorbers. In this paper we describe an actively mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser where the mode-locker drive signal is derived directly from the laser cavity.
