Abstract
Quantum-confined effects in semiconductor microstructures have attracted considerable attention because of their novel optical properties and their possible nonlinear optical device applications. Recently, we showed strong evidence for electron-hole quantization and an unusual saturation behavior in specially prepared CdSe microcrystallites.1 Here, we report the frequency dependence of the optical nonlinearities for these quantum dot structures using degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM) techniques.
