Abstract
The large optical nonlinearity and fast response of semiconductor-doped glasses (SDG) are attractive characteristics, and have been extensively studied with regard to their practical applications, as well as from the viewpoint of quantum dots physics. The quantum confinement effect is expected to enhance the optical nonlinearity in microcrystallites, but the size dependence of the optical nonlinearity in CdSSe microcrystallites has yet to be clarified.
