Nonlinear frequency conversion techniques to attain visible and UV radiation are under development because the compact and long life laser source is in demand for industrial and medical applications. In particular, freqnency conversion of the laser-diode-pumped solid-state laser has received recent attention, but it has some problems such as low power and a high price tor practical usage. Developing a compact, low-cost light source with high-power performance is a subject of high priority.
