Abstract

Recent advances have brought light modulator/switches of LiNbO3 guided-wave structures to the stage at which the advantages of adopting these devices in practical photonic systems are being seriously examined. They have already been used in certain commercially available measurement instruments and have also been applied to fiber communication test systems over several Gbit/s.
