Abstract

Optical systems employing integrated-optical modulators are becoming increasingly attractive for transmitting and processing analog signals. An example of such a system is an external-modulator analog fiber-optic link.1 Modulator performance characteristics critical to such applications include sensitivity, frequency response, and linearity. Modulator performance characteristics critical to such applications include sensitivity, frequency response, and linearity.
