Effects of mode spacing on broadband stimulated Raman scattering

Abstract

For many applications involving stimulated Raman scattering the bandwidth of the pump radiation is wider than that of the Raman line. Analytic models generally predict that the Raman gain for the broadband pump is the same as that of a single-mode pump if the pump and Stokes waves are temporarily correlated.1-3
