Abstract

It was reported that a near IR continuum emission covering the 700-2100-nm range in Ge doped silica core fibers can be generated by a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser.1 This broadband, continuum, generation, in Ge doped fibers can be further upconverted into the visible region to cover the 300- 2100-nm range by a Q-switched mode- locked Nd:YAG laser.2
