Abstract

The Xe laser has been observed in several lines relevant to 5d and 6p manifold (1.73- 3.51 μm), which are affected by the gas conditions and excitation rates. Recently their complicated laser kinetics has been investigated by many workers. It was reported that both the 2.03- and 1.73m transitions have the same upper laser level but that the 2.03-μm line is dominantly obtained in the He-Xe mixture and the 1.73-μm line mainly oscillates in the Ar-Xe mixture. The line competition was reported by Suda et al.1
