CTHP3 Long distance distributed temperature sensor

Abstract

Various Raman distributed temperature sensors have been developed.1–3 But the measurable distance has been limited to 2 km because of fiber loss in the short wavelength region and the light source power.4 A long distance sensor using a 1.3-µm light source is discussed.
