Abstract

Recently nonlinear optical crystals which have a high laser damage threshold are required for harmonic conversion of high power lasers to obtain intense short wavelength lasers. Organic materials are very promising for this purpose. Especially L- arginine phosphate monohydrate (LAP)1 and deuterated LAP (DLAP)2,3 are useful materials. We measured the damage threshold of various kinds of organic crystal. Many organic materials showed much higher values than inorganic KDP and fused silica.
