Efficient Diffraction-Limited Beam Combining of Semiconductor Laser Diode Arrays using Photorefractive BaTiO3

Abstract

Beam combining between two gain-guided laser arrays injected with a third monomode master is demonstrated. Efficient (50–90%) and fast (few seconds) two-wave mixing in a photorefractive BaTiO3 coherently combines the two beams in a diffraction limited output.
