Abstract

All-optical switching in nonlinear optical devices is of considerable interest because of its potential application for very high bandwidth photonic modulators, GaAs/AlGaAs multiple quantum well (MQW) waveguide devices have recently been studied for this purpose.1-3 Here we report additional results on our picosecond and femtosecond studies of nonlinear directional couplers (NTLDCs) fabricated using MQW structures.
