Electrically tunable Ti:UNbO3 InGaAsP composite-cavity laser

Abstract

Coherent optical communication systems require broadly tunable narrow-linewidth single-frequency semiconductor lasers. The only reported laser of this kind employs a bulk grating in an extended cavity which has to be mechanically rotated to achieve wavelength tuning.1
