Abstract
We have used a prism pair to compress pulses that have undergone self-phase modulation (SPM) in an optical fiber. To increase the dispersion of the prism pair by 2 orders of magnitude, we used dense flint glass and a Judicious choice of incidence angle. The use of prism pairs to produce negative group velocity dispersion has been shown previously,1 and prisms have been used intracavity with great success.2
