Abstract

Intracavity second harmonic generation of semiconductor diode laser-pumped Nd lasers has been suggested as an efficient method to obtain coherent green radiation.1 With the recent demonstration of highly efficient diode-pumped Nd:YAG2 and Nd:YLF3 lasers, intracavity-doubled lasers have become practical devices. This was originally shown by placing KTiOPO4 (KTP) in the cavity of a diode-pumped Nd:YAG laser.4
