Abstract

Leakage of tritium into the air is a recognized health hazard in both fission and fusion reactor environments. As HTO is a much more dangerous form of tritium than HT, there is much interest in developing a monitor for tritium in the specific form of HTO. The required sensitivity of such an instrument is in the parts per billion to parts per trillion range.
