Abstract
KTP (KTiOPO4) is a relatively new nonlinear optical material1 that is increasingly being used commercially for second harmonic generation of the 1.06-μm YAG laser. Measurements on one of the few initial samples suggested that KTP may also be attractive for electrooptic applications.2 This paper discusses new measurements of the electrooptic and dielectric properties of KTP using high quality crystals and compares these properties with other nonlinear optical materials.
